It's this time of the year, and the Danish Cookies are on the shelves again. This time imported to Canada by the Hudson Bay Company and available at the HBC stores as Butter Cookies. The word "Danish" for some reason was taken out this year. Danish colour is still present on the top of the box.

Only after turning the tin box upside down one can read "PRODUCT OF DENMARK". Same good cookies. And Glædelig jul to you all!

Anthon Berg has helped North Americans to go through 2010 Christmas Season with their 64-bottle box of chocolate liqueurs.

Great package from the Royal Danish Court supplier, every bottle out of 1 kg box is filled with fine drink.

I never knew how to properly consume the fine product. This time around Anthon Berg chocolatiers came with the a simple manual on the back of the package. It works!

Beware! Fake Danish Cookies

Watch for so called "The Original" Danish Butter Cookies on the shelves of your grocery store. Chinese cookie bakers seem to join the Buy Danish Goods, Support Freedom Of Expression campaign. They grabbed the stick by the wrong end though. Original Danish Cookies are made in Denmark, not in Asia.

Look at the content. Butter cookies are supposed to be made with real butter, not "butter flavouring". And what is it about Orange Yellow? Since when have Danish Cookies been contaminated with the synthetic food colorants?

One thing is not fake for sure - honest referral to geography. The cookie tin claims to be the Product of P. R. C. - People's Republic of China. Not of Denmark.
